It’s Time to Face your Fate

With its full-on 3D graphics, FATE is an action RPG that really seems to explode off the screen. However, one of the problems with games that look so cool is that they often lack content. Read on to discover if FATE has the full package.

FATE offers gamers a real sense of adventure where they have the chance to explore dungeons and fight dragons on their quest for treasure and adventure. The game manages to capture the art of storytelling well and the colourful 3D graphics act to enhance the elements of magic and mystery that are already in place.

Although FATE features a number of elements that feel like they come from other games, it does also offer a few original touches here and there. Gamers play the role of either a boy or a girl who enters the town of Grove with their trusty pet dog or cat in tow. This quaint town sits right on the gate of a creepy dungeon and before you know it you are compelled to enter the dungeon and take on whatever lies in wait.

Players will earn plenty of experience as they go deeper into the dungeon as well as gold and other types of treasure. The challenges also get progressively harder and at some points the monsters and other enemies can be extremely hard to beat. Notice gamers may find this a bit frustrating at first and FATE is certainly no piece of cake.

This is one game that is just made for groups of friends to enjoy together. Like all classic role playing games there are cryptic clues to solve and other types of puzzles that really make you think. Unfortunately, FATE is only available as a single player game and this omission seems to stand out and make players feel a bit lonely as they take on the trials all on their own.

With FATE, gamers may find that many of the elements they enjoyed about the game ultimately become the things that make them want to throw in the towel. The fact that the levels and other elements are randomly generated seems really cool at first, but can make the game hard to follow and feel directionless in the end.

Pros

  • Very addictive game play
  • Great graphics
  • Randomly generated levels offer replayability

Cons

  • No multiplayer function
  • Can be very difficult
  • Sometimes a bit too random
